Bill Knuttel consults with winemaker Pete Nixon to create the Banknote Wine Company, specializing in limited-production hand crafted Napa Valley Wines. A Zinfandel based blend (62% Zinfandel, 25% Syrah, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon) selected from only the finest Napa Valley Vineyards produces aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry, caramel, cassis, vanilla, and a touch of clove & oak spice. A rich palate follows with creme de cassis, cherry preserves, espresso, with a long persistent finish. Double Gold, Best in Class from the San Francisco Wine Competition, Only 585 Cases Made. Why So Many Labels? According to the winery, they couldn't decide on one banknote to represent the wine, so each case of Banknote wine has twelve different banknote labels.

Pete Nixon began his career in wine as a graphic designer creating wine labels for new brands. After 15 years of helping others launch their wines, Pete decided to give it a go himself, choosing Zinfandel as the core of his portfolio. The idea for his unique label designs came from his long time hobby of collecting banknotes, which he's used to great effect in his lineup of wines.

The Napa Valley is one of the most highly praised regions in the wine world, and has been ever since the mid-70's (if not the mid-60's for Robert Mondavi and like-minded pioneers) for the quality of its climate, and its seemingly inexhaustible supply of moderate, ideal growing seasons. A region full of climatologically diverse sub-regions, it is a winemaker's paradise, as they are able to harness the potential of so many diverse terroirs within such a relatively small area.
