If wine is art, Franciacorta’s masterpiece is Ca’ del Bosco. Ca’ del Bosco is the leading brand of sparkling wines with ultra-fine perlage that bear the name of the zone where they are made: Franciacorta. That enviable position has been reached thanks to the passion of Maurizio Zanella, who in the early 1970s set out to pursue his vocation, playing a leading role in Italy’s wine renaissance and transforming a house in the woods into a cutting edge winery. At Ca’ del Bosco, one key principle inspires the entire production process, from grape selection to bottling, and that principle is quality, or rather, excellence. Ca’ del Bosco wines must meet the requirements for total drinking pleasure: supreme balance and perfect harmony.

Ca’ del Bosco has defined the Franciacorta winemaking district – a territory where Chardonnay in particular reaches ripeness with the greatest concentration of aromas. Ca’ del Bosco believes in excellence; to make great wines you need high-performance technology. Ca del Bosco has invested in a state-of-the-art cellar unique to this region, which allows the wine making team to optimally manage pre-fermentation operations for whites and maceration for the reds, both crucial stages in vinification of top quality wines.

Franciacorta is a sparkling wine from Lombardy with DOCG status produced from grapes grown within the boundaries of the territory of Franciacorta, on the hills of a series of townships to the south of Lake Iseo in the Province of Brescia. It was awarded DOC status in 1967, the designation then also including red and white still wines. Since 1995 the DOCG classification has applied exclusively to the sparkling wines of the area.
