Domaine de Montcy, a small Loire Estate of about 20 acres, became certified organic is 2005. Their chief mission is to produce natural and authentic wines, respectful of nature and the environment, from high-quality and healthy grapes, to soil and harvest. The Cheverny Red is similar to a Passetoutgrains (Burgundy), with a delightfully fun blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir and a touch of Malbec. Just a fun and lively red wine!
For Laura Semeria, purchasing Domaine de Montcy was a dream come true. Having grown up in Italy within a family that has several generations of olive oil making experience, Laura launched a successful career working for a few large multinational food companies before finally pursuing her passion for wine. She now oversees all operations at Domaine de Montcy and lives in Cheverney with her husband and daughters.
Cheverny is a French wine region in the Loire Valley that makes dry white wines, light red wines and rose wines. The area received VDP status in 1973, and then AOC on 26 March 1993 when new regulatory laws were passed. The wine region is spread over 532 hectares, within 24 communes of the Loir-et-Cher department.
