Meet the CoolVines Wine Geek! He’ll guide you toward – or away from! – wines that have a unique flavor profile: intentionally oxidized wines, earthy, stinky wines, wines with a bit of fritz on the tongue. Look for him throughout our web site, and on the shelves in our stores, to point the way toward these geeky wines.
Pure fruit, nose of guava, peach pit and orange blossom. Slightly nutty, creamy and juicy with bright acidity that lingers. Drink cold with or without spicy cuisine.
The Black family purchased an existing vineyard in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley in 2003 and immediately began turning the estate into a sustainably farmed vineyard. The goal was to produce rich, elegant, and complex wines. The winery is named in honor of the Black's four daughters.
In 2005 the Blacks purchased the Doe Ridge property in Yamhill Carlton to continue the growth of the brand. They chose a site in a differing appellation to add complexity and variety.
This vineyard has been turned into one of the largest experiments of its kind with twenty acres farmed biodynamically and twenty acres farmed sustainably through the L.I.V.E (low impact viticulture and enology) program.
Today The Four Graces produces Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc under the guidance of French-born Laurent Montalieu, one of Oregon's most respected winemakers.
Oregon is quickly gaining a solid reputation for producing some of the finest cold-weather varietals to be found in the world. While not uniform in climate by any stretch, the topography tends to create moderate, long growing seasons that favor Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, and some clones of Chardonnay.
