Earthy
One of the finest values in the whole of the Rhone--it displays masterful craftmanship. Grown sustainably, this "country wine" will fill any desires you have for ripe, plummy wines with a velvety texture and lasting finish.
The Domaine de Monpertuis has been in the hands of the Jeune family for several generations. Each successor has added bits and pieces of vineyards to the expanding estate so that the current owner, Paul Jeune, is now the proprietor of 10 acres of vines scattered throughout Chateauneuf du Pape.

This wine drinks like a Chateneauf De Pape, but does't carry the same price tag. Great nose, and an even better finish. Great vintage. It will be interesting to see how the Counoise ages.
