With its vineyards bordering both Puligny- and Chassagne-Montrachet, and its wines selling for a fraction of the price of its illustrious neighbors, Saint-Aubin has long been an insider's secret value. Known for its distinct edginess, the white wines of Saint-Aubin are more than a great value, they are fantastic food wines. Thomas-Labille's rendition exhibits distinct minerality and complexity that sets it apart from many others of the appellation.

Since 1792, the Latour-Labille family has been working the famed vineyards of Meursault. The current generation, led by Vincent Latour, possesses 30 acres of Meursault vines and produces 4000 cases annually. The winemaking is traditional: whole cluster fermentation, used and new demi-muids, used and new barrels, and extended elevage. In 2008 and 2009 Vincent Latour earned the acclaim of the best new/young winemaker in the Côte de Beaune/Côte de Nuits as the outcome of an annual blind tasting organized by local vignerons.

The great wines of Burgundy are uniquely complex, compelling and at times memorizing. Above all they are evocative, transformative but like all creatures, temperamental and anything but dependable. Two grapes dominate this agricultural masterpiece, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Both grapes achieve their greatest elegance when planted in cooler climates, to which Burgundy is the coolest and most Northern climate of all the major regions famous for red wines. When winemakers talk about Burgundy, they generally speak of terroir, the compilation of the vineyard's soil, slope, orientation, nuance of climate, etc. This concept of terroir is what makes wines produced from grapes even in the same village or vineyard strikingly different. Burgundy is a place of legend, awe and adventure, a place that wine lovers call home.
