Meet the CoolVines Wine Geek! He’ll guide you toward – or away from! – wines that have a unique flavor profile: intentionally oxidized wines, earthy, stinky wines, wines with a bit of fritz on the tongue. Look for him throughout our web site, and on the shelves in our stores, to point the way toward these geeky wines.
Huck am Bach, is named after the region Huck am Bach Hof in St. Magdalena, near Bolzano. A carefully selected red blend that is a mixture of Schiava (or Trollinger) and Lagrein. Both traditional light red wine producing grapes of northern Italy.
The Cantina Produttori Bolzano Estate represents the joint efforts of two of Alto Adige’s most historic wineries—Santa Magdalena, established 1930, and Cantina Gries, established in 1908. The vineyard elevations range from 200 to 700 meters above sea level. Huck am Bach Hof, where is wine is produced in St. Magdalena is 250 meters above sea level. This is an exciting estate that makes some of the most exciting Lagrein from the area, and some of the most exceptional reds in Italy.
