Robert Foley's Pinot Blanc was vinified with total focus on the fruit characteristics of the Pinot Blanc grape -- 100% stainless steel fermentation with no oak or malolactic fermentation. Floral aromas play against ripe stone-fruit flavors while a slinky acidity makes this a perfect food wine. Try it with fish, chicken or maybe a pasta carbonara.

July 2012 Wine Club Selection

Robert Foley began his wine making career in the Napa Valley in 1977, working at a number of highly regarded Napa Valley wineries including the famous Pride Mountain Vineyards, where he spent 15 years as founding wine maker. During this period he also created the highly acclaimed Switchback Ridge, Hourglass, Paloma, School House, and Engel Family wines.

In 1998 Robert Foley Vineyards bottled its flagship Claret (a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend), and has since expanded and diversified its production to offer more of the big reds Bob is famous for – Petite Sirah, Merlot, Charbono, the limited-release Howell Mountain Cabernet, and Bob's latest creation, The Griffin (a blend of the best in the red cellar). Ever seeking new, fun, and interesting, Bob has also bottled three of his favorite whites: Pinot Blanc, Semillon, and Roussanne.

The Napa Valley is one of the most highly praised regions in the wine world, and has been ever since the mid-70's (if not the mid-60's for Robert Mondavi and like-minded pioneers) for the quality of its climate, and its seemingly inexhaustible supply of moderate, ideal growing seasons. A region full of climatologically diverse sub-regions, it is a winemaker's paradise, as they are able to harness the potential of so many diverse terroirs within such a relatively small area.
