Meet the CoolVines Wine Geek! He’ll guide you toward – or away from! – wines that have a unique flavor profile: intentionally oxidized wines, earthy, stinky wines, wines with a bit of fritz on the tongue. Look for him throughout our web site, and on the shelves in our stores, to point the way toward these geeky wines.
The Palazzo 2010 Cuvee Blanc is a delicious blend of Semillon, with a just a touch of Sauvignon Blanc! On the palate the wine has a rich, oily texture & weight yet balanced beautifully by stunning acidity! An extremely long finish, especially for a white wine! A really ‘Superior Food Wine’ to be enjoyed!
It began almost 30 years ago . . . a love affair with the wines produced from the Bordeaux region of France. Particularly, wines from the small, family owned Chateaus that dot the rolling hillsides of the beautiful ‘Right Bank’ countryside. It is from here, that my inspiration came.
Finally, the chance to fulfill a life-long passion and dream of producing a wine of exceptional character and style, that would capture the ‘power and elegance’ of the wines I tasted and enjoyed as a young man living in France. In November 2005 that dream was realized . . . when I released my first vintage of Palazzo Napa Valley Red Wine!
Our goal at Palazzo is to make wines of outstanding quality, depth, balance and structure. . . that exhibit both ‘power and elegance’ on the palate. . . and that pair well with a broad range of foods. That will always be the standard! It is my hope, that my wine will bring laughter and enjoyment to people's lives . . . and zest and harmony to everyone's dining tables!
The Napa Valley is one of the most highly praised regions in the wine world, and has been ever since the mid-70's (if not the mid-60's for Robert Mondavi and like-minded pioneers) for the quality of its climate, and its seemingly inexhaustible supply of moderate, ideal growing seasons. A region full of climatologically diverse sub-regions, it is a winemaker's paradise, as they are able to harness the potential of so many diverse terroirs within such a relatively small area.
