Casina di Cornia Chianti Classico is made with the best bunches picked form the Vigna la Casina region of the vineyard. The 100% Sangiovese produces a wine with a strong character that is most appreciated when accompanied with food. Thanks to its tannins and enduring freshness, it goes very well with traditional cuisine, pasta, carpaccio or cheese such as fresh goats cheese.

Casina di Cornia is found lying on the southwestern slopes of the Chianti hills lying between Florence and Siena, it gently looks over the Elsa Valley in the borough of Castellina in Chianti. Here, the beauty of the area and the quality of the land have acted as a backdrop to a centuries-old tradition of know-how connected with the land and its products. The farm at Casina di Cornia covers a total area of 24 hectares, 7 of which are set aside for the family-managed vineyards. The deep clay-limestone earth gives full-bodied and tannin-enriched wines. Since 1980 the vineyard has aimed at quality by selecting and planting choice Sangiovese clones which produce well-structured wines. They have been "Bio" certified since 1983 and use only natural fertilizers. To obtain wines that bring out all the body and quality of the grapes, they interfere with the grapes and the wine as little as possible. The grapes are picked by hand and collected in small crates so that they arrive at the winery in perfect condition.

One of the first areas to classify its borders and become delimited in 1716, Chianti Classico is fixed in minds worldwide as the proto-typical, idyllic Italian wine region. Due to Chianti Classico's relatively high vineyards (800-1600 feet above sea level) and the damp climate, it is a challenge to get the Sangiovese grape to ripen fully in all but the hottest, driest years.
