The Jelu project has been created to promote the uniqueness terroir of the Zonda Valley, Argentina. The weather and the terroir are extreme, with temperature variations in the summer months of 50 degrees. The soil in the vineyards is alluvial, and the entire property is located in a box canyon, sitting on an old riverbed. All these factors give these wines uniqueness quite difficult to match. Very fresh and aromatic, this crisp light bodied white is modern in style, and with great acidity makes it an excellent pairing with plenty of spring and summer foods.
June 2012 Wine Club Selection
The entire Jelu project was sprearheaded in 2002 by British Master of Wine Angela Muir, and her leadership has created an winemaking environment that brings out the best of the Argentinean terroir. In a short amount of time some of their vineyard have already been recognized as a potentially world class site for wines and the entire project was created to promote the uniqueness terroir of the Zonda Valley and the growing conditions of Patagonia.
