This wine is bright, bone dry with a lingering finish. Perfect for seafood, especially with lemon elements, and Mediterranean dishes with tomatoes, and olive oil. It is very versatile with light to medium rich dishes.
While most winemakers recognize Mosel and the Pfalz for the top German wines, the smaller region of the Rheingau is perhaps the strongest white wine producing region in all of Germany. In fact, the Riesling from the Rheingau put German wine production on the map, as their serene and rolling vineyards run along with south facing bank of the Rhine river and protected by the forests of the Taunus Mountains which block the cold northern wines. Their wines are distinctive from the Mosel, generally richer, rounder and earthier.
