This elegant Brunello from winemaker Tony Sasa
is all strawberry on the nose, with full-bodied fruit and some subtle spice and tar nuances on the palate. Crafted to enhance roasted or grilled red meats, game, and mature cheeses.

Winemaker Tony Sasa works the very small vineyard that yields the grapes for Martina, which is dedicated to his three year-old daughter. Producing a scant 6000 bottles per year, this is truly a project of passion for Tony. Using only the very best fruit from the vineyard, the wine is aged in barrels for 3 years and then in bottle for an additional 10 months.

The walled medieval village of Montalcino clings to a rocky hilltop, an hour's drive south of Chianti Classico. This southern region of Tuscany is known for it's warmer climate, producing wines that are bigger bodied, denser, and packed with a bit more punch. The warmth also provides winemakers more assurances that each year sangiovese grapes will indeed ripen and produce wines of nuance and complexity.
