Meet the CoolVines Wine Geek! He’ll guide you toward – or away from! – wines that have a unique flavor profile: intentionally oxidized wines, earthy, stinky wines, wines with a bit of fritz on the tongue. Look for him throughout our web site, and on the shelves in our stores, to point the way toward these geeky wines.
A refreshing Riesling with delicate fruitiness. Fine acidity, unobtrusive sweetness, and a long-lasting finish from meticulously sourced sustainable fruit in the largest wine-producing region of Germany.
Established in 1786, The House of Valckenberg has been operating as a wine merchants in Rheinhessen, building and sustaining relationships with growers and wineries in the region. With a large number of varied-soil type vineyards to work with, Valckenberg has deep roots in the Rheinhessin (the largest wine producing region in Germany), and access to some of the best fruit in the country. They consistently take great care in sourcing their grapes from sustainably-practicing farms and work hard to promote and sustain the viticultural traditions of the region.
Rheinhessen is the German wine region that boasts the highest number of sunshine hours per year as well as the best conditions for grape growing with very low humidity, and it is here that many new grape varieties were bred in the early 1900s.
