According to winemaker Roberto Filippo, everything must naturally start in the vineyards. They believe that only by working closely with the principles of nature and respect for their land, is it possible to obtain high quality grapes, without which any wine would lose its meaning. Certified organic since 1994, this smaller estate fully encompass the "new age" local movement. Roberto told the New York Times several years ago "As a family we consume organic produce, so it simply makes sense to only make organic wines." This simple, but universally respected philosophy, produces authentic wines from the Umbria region, just north of Rome. Their Grechetto, one of the most important white wines of the Umbria region, is medium-bodied with lots of fresh notes, good acidity, and great balance. Great for seafood dishes.

Roberto and his family have been working the vineyards for generations, each dedicating himself to the earth, the Italian region of Umbria, and above all else their passion for wine. Since 1994, the entire vineyard has been certified organic, and current owner/winemaker Roberto di Filippo continues the tradition by producing local wines on their 30 hectares of sun-drenched hillside vineyards, halfway between Torgiano and Montefalco. Their passion is combined with a vision that looks to Organic and Biodynamic, not as a fad, but as a philosophy of life that is the basis of production from soils extracting the true "soul" of Terra Umbria.

Umbria is a small, beautiful region in the center of Italy, rich in history and art, with a landscape of medieval hilltop villages, castles and monasteries. Unlike its Tuscan neighbor to the north, and despite its scenic beauty and cultural treasures, Umbria is a region largely untouched by large-scale tourism.
