Grown organically on 65 year old vines, these Ribolla grapes are hand-harvested late in the season before fermenting with natural yeasts culled from the same grapes harvested during pre-harvest. Fermentation is completed in wooden barriques where the wine matures on its own lees without filtration. Until it is bottled, no sulphur or any other preservative additive is used, thus the wine has gone through all natural processes and becomes sound and stable naturally, ready to last one of our lifetimes. All this creates a vivacious, dry, fresh and balanced wine with gorgeous flavors of fall orchard fruits and honey alongside a slight note of cedar wood. Try it with grilled swordfish or even briny oysters.

The Movia estate dates back to 1700, passing into the hands of the Kristančič family with a wedding in 1820. The estate extends over 22 hectares of land, about half of which lie on the Italian side of the Goriška Brda.

On the world market today, Movia is a synonym for wines with impressive character and extraordinary elegance. They offer a glimpse into the noblest of viticultural traditions, often crossing the line of generally accepted and applicable oenological practices. The wines are produced with the highest measure of respect towards nature -- no fining, no filtration.
