This is a beautifully powerful and generous Anjou Villages. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc, it pairs particularly well with red meats such as shoulder of lamb with herbs, roast beef, grilled flank steak, and burgers.

Property of Lamotte family since 1985, this ancient vineyard, long operated by Gourdon family was planted to mainly Chenin Blanc grapes, before the arrival of phylloxera which in the late nineteenth century destroyed almost all Europeans vineyards. Most of its production, therefore, was devoted to white wines.

The renovation of the vineyard, mandated by the planting of grafted plants was an opportunity to diversify the vines: Gamay, Grolleau, Pineau d'Aunis and, more recently, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
