Mark J. Neal crafts this spicy gem using organically grown fruit from plots that are over seen by his vineyard management company. He ages the wine in new Hungarian oak barrels, which impart a zesty, peppery quality.
Mark J. Neal built Neal Family Vineyards winery to compliment his family's forty-year history of winemaking in the Napa Valley. It is their goal to craft superior valley and mountain grown wines, organically farmed and produced and bottled on Howell Mountain in Napa County, California. They ensure that the entire winemaking process is quality driven--from ground, to grape, to glass--and only release wines that they feel express the very best qualities of ultra premium Napa Valley fruit and represent their family's ongoing dedication to the superiority associated with the wines of this region.
The Napa Valley is one of the most highly praised regions in the wine world, and has been ever since the mid-70's (if not the mid-60's for Robert Mondavi and like-minded pioneers) for the quality of its climate, and its seemingly inexhaustible supply of moderate, ideal growing seasons. A region full of climatologically diverse sub-regions, it is a winemaker's paradise, as they are able to harness the potential of so many diverse terroirs within such a relatively small area.
