The House of Ellner owns more than 140 acres of vineyards dotted throughout 15 different villages within Champagne. This breadth of terroir results in cuvees of great finesse and complexity that can add a distinctive spark of excitement to any time of the day or night.

Charles Ellner, the winery's founder, began his career in Champagne in the 19th century as a bottle riddler in the cellars of other Champagne producers. Early on, however, Charles began purchasing small vineyards in Epernay and eventually started making his eponymous sparkling wine.

Several generations hence, the Ellner family still owns and runs the winery. They seek to stay on the cutting-edge of viticulture and winemaking while producing classically styled Champagnes that match any occasion.

No other winemaking region is as closely associated with celebration and romance. Brand-power here is also stronger than other regions, and consumers pay a premium for consistency and reliability. However a new wave of "grower" champagnes is introducing wines of distinction and character. Major varietals include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
