The Chateau de Bonhoste is located six miles from the famous St. Emillion, on the Right Bank of the Gironde River. The current estate was created in 1977 when Bernard Fournier purchased this 11th century Chateau and it's 44 hectares of vineyards. Today the winemaking role has been passed on to Bernard's son Yannick, while his sister Sylvaine works the vines with her mother Colette. Making blends of the noble varieties in Bordeaux using traditional methods, their Bordeaux Blanc Sec is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle. The natural texture of the Semillon mingles with the vibrant acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc, making a fun and refreshing white Bordeaux.

The story of Chateau de Bonhoste begins with the Bussiere family’s arrival in the "Bonhoste" area bordering the village of Saint-Jean de Blaignac in 1895. There they met the Chabert family who had been in the area since the end of the XVIIIth century. The two families set about increasing the size of the properties through simple hardwork, determination and dedication. Today Colette and Bernard and now their children Sylvaine and Yannick continue their quest to continuously improve the estate thereby nourishing their love of wine, a quest which has built them a solid reputation amongst their peers and in the wine world and which will serve in the future.

The undisputed king of France's wine regions, Bordeaux sits amidst and astride the rivers Dordogne and Garonne. Accounting for some 800 million bottles produced each year, Bordeaux has built its reputation on quality, with some of the world's most sought-after wines being crafted along the river banks. Bordeaux also creates a large amount of table wine, mostly sourced from the lesser of Bordeaux's 57 appellations. Bordeaux boasts over 10,000 winemakers. Known mostly for the red blends, Bordeaux also enjoys notoriety for its excellent sweet white wines, as well as several high-quality dry whites created mostly in the central regions between the two rivers.
