The Tenuta de Renieri, or winery estate, is located in the Southern part of Tuscany's stunning region of Montalcino, on vineyard slopes that face Monte Amiata. The entire vineyard was replanted in 1988, and today the production of the wines is minuscule for the region only yielding the equivalent of one bottle per vine. The hand selection of only the top fruit is evident in these wines of great depth and concentration, where the native Sangiovese thrives alongside rows of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The wines are made in a classic Italian style, and while this Super Tuscan is indeed leading to the modern spectrum, there is a bit of that rustic Italian flavor behind the fruit forwardness of the wine.
The Invetro 2008 from Tenuta de Renieri is a full bodied blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvingon and Merlot. This Super Tuscan is superbly rich with tons of fruit, lots of depth and a very long finish. As a added bonus and word of caution, the wine has a glass cork. With a glass cork the wine can be open and close several times without jeopardizing the wine quality.
The Renieri tenuta, or winery estate, comprises 128 hectares in the southern quadrant of Montalcino, on slopes that face Monte Amiata. Thirty hectares of vineyards are planted at an elevation of 350-420 metres, their exposures forming an arc from southeast to southwest. Following the grubbing-up of the old vineyards, new vines were planted in 1998, at a density of 6,000 vines per hectare. The yield at just one kg. per vine, the equivalent of one bottle of wine, entails the least stress per plant and ensures perfectly ripened fruit, and thus optimal quality.
The walled medieval village of Montalcino clings to a rocky hilltop, an hour's drive south of Chianti Classico. This southern region of Tuscany is known for it's warmer climate, producing wines that are bigger bodied, denser, and packed with a bit more punch. The warmth also provides winemakers more assurances that each year sangiovese grapes will indeed ripen and produce wines of nuance and complexity.

Damon O'Gara, WineOG says:
This wine is spectacular! Marco Bacci is one of Tuscany's best winemakers ; get your hands on anything he makes. With just a touch of patience this wine develops in the glass and decanter. It is unreal that this wine is under $20.00
Vic Wahby, vwahby says:
Some superficial appeal, mild effervescence, didn't last long in the glass nor half open bottle the next day. No depth, uniqueness, unusual flavors ...
