Each month Eric Asimov, wine writer for the NY Times will educate all of us on a particular style of wine…and we’re going to be Professor Asimov’s T.A.
…as such we will make sure that we have one or more of the example wines listed in his article – or a comparable wine that can be used for the same lesson.

We will feature these wines in one of our in-store tastings so that we can discuss it together.  This evening we will be tasting and discussing Riesling, and a couple selections of Mr. Asimov's from previous months as well!

We will address his questions of:
•    What does the wine smell & taste like?   What is the texture?   How does the taste change over time?
And the point is…
•    To gain an understanding of your own tastes and to retain a sense of the wine and its affiliation with particular foods

Mr. Asimov asks you to drink the wine, share thoughts, comments, and questions at nytimes.com/dining

Patricius Winery and Small Plates
- A Hungarian Wine Evening at
Mistral.

Hungary's Tokaji wines are renowned throughout the world, primarily for the preeminent royal dessert wine of the same name, its sweetness measured in "puttonyos".

We invite you to discover that Hungary produces exceptional dry wines, too. Boasting volcanic and clay soils, the Tokaj region represents some of the finest winemaking terroir that exists.

Its history is so rich and respected that by royal decree Tokaj was the first official appellation to be established in the world, even predating Bordeaux!

On a warm summer evening, experience the timelessness and enjoyability of Hungarian wine with Arno Wimpffen of Patricius Winery. A selection of dry white wines, including sparkling Furmint, Dry Furmint, Yellow Muscat, Harslevelu and of course, the famous sweet Tokaji Aszu will all be served alongside Mistral's expertly prepared dishes. Share plates, laughs and more!

Dinner is by reservation only. No reservations will be taken without full payment made at least 24 hours in advance and 48 hour cancellation notice is required for full refund (by 5pm, August 5th 2014).
